Zwaanshoek: Deceased person found in car potentially linked to missing woman

Police have discovered a deceased person inside a car that went into the water along the Bennebroekerdijk in Zwaanshoek. The discovery may be linked to the disappearance of 51-year-old Hege Orbak from Hillegom, who has been missing since the night of August 22-23.

Orbak was last seen leaving Hillegom around 00:45 in a grey Fiat 500 with a black glass panoramic roof. Prior to the discovery in Zwaanshoek, investigators had received information suggesting she may have been near the Wassenaarse Slag between 01:00 and 03:00 on the night of her disappearance.

Authorities have requested residents in Noordwijkerhout, Noordwijk, Katwijk, Wassenaar, and Leiden to review camera footage from that timeframe. Police are currently conducting an extensive investigation to confirm the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances under which the vehicle entered the water.
