ZWEI supports matchmaking and addresses Japan's declining birthrate

Marriage agency ZWEI is launching a promotional campaign to support matchmaking efforts in Japan. Starting October 1, 2026, the company will offer free professional profile photography for the first 200 new members who sign a contract on the day of their initial consultation. The campaign is conducted in partnership with Studio Cellfit and aims to help members make better first impressions, as a ZWEI survey indicated that 92.2% of users prioritize profile photos when selecting a partner.

Separately, ZWEI participated in a roundtable discussion in Sendai City regarding the region's declining birthrate. With the total fertility rate in Miyagi Prefecture hitting a record low of 1.00 in 2025, officials, academics, and business leaders discussed the need for comprehensive support. The discussion emphasized that addressing demographic decline requires more than just childcare support; it must also address the challenges of marriage and meeting potential partners, including economic instability and changing social values.
