Zwiesel triple murder trial begins in Deggendorf

The trial for a 38-year-old man accused of a triple murder is set to begin at the Deggendorf District Court on October 1. The case stems from the discovery of three bodies in a multi-family house in Zwiesel in June 2025.

According to the prosecution, the defendant allegedly murdered two female neighbors in his apartment for sexual gratification. Investigators believe the first woman was strangled with a cable; her body was subsequently dismembered, with her torso found in a refrigerator and her legs left in a forest.

The second woman was allegedly attacked with a beer bottle and struck at least 13 times with a hammer before being suffocated with plastic wrap. The defendant is also accused of murdering the second woman's partner with a hammer after the man entered his home to search for her. The suspect reportedly surrendered to police in Austria following the incidents.
