Zwolle launches nominations for Ons Blauwe Hart 2026

The city of Zwolle has reopened nominations for the Ons Blauwe Hart initiative, an award designed to recognize residents who contribute to the community. Following a successful inaugural edition, the program seeks to honor individuals who support their neighbors, volunteer, or work to make the city a better place, often without seeking personal attention.

Eligible nominees must live or work in Zwolle and have performed meaningful acts for fellow citizens, such as assisting elderly neighbors, volunteering at food banks, or improving local green spaces. Nominations are open from October 22 through November 29, 2026. Self-nominations are not permitted, and each submission may only nominate one person. The award ceremony, where recipients will receive a Blue Heart pin, is scheduled for December 17, 2026.
