Zwolle specialists provide medical tattooing for breast cancer survivors

In Zwolle, Netherlands, medical tattooing specialists are offering support to individuals facing physical changes following cancer treatments and other medical procedures. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, IntermeZZo, an IPSO center for cancer survivors, is hosting an information session on October 28 regarding realistic 3D nipple tattooing.

Specialist Sema Kartal, a world champion in realistic 3D nipple tattooing techniques, will explain how shadows and pigments are used to recreate the appearance of a nipple and areola. The session aims to address how these procedures can assist with self-image and confidence for those whose skin has been altered by treatment.

Additionally, medical tattoo artist Heidy Pijman, who recently opened her own practice in Zwolle after years of working at Radboudumc, provides services to restore a natural appearance to skin affected by scars, burns, or color discrepancies. Her work includes scalp pigmentation to simulate the appearance of short hair, focusing on restoring a sense of normalcy to patients.
