Zymire Hughes arrested in Las Vegas for Philadelphia terror spree

Zymire Hughes, 22, has been arrested in Las Vegas following a two-week manhunt for allegedly terrorizing pedestrians in Philadelphia. The arrest was conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force on Tuesday night.

Authorities allege that on August 12, Hughes wore a Chucky-style Halloween mask while harassing numerous people near Philadelphia City Hall. During the spree, he reportedly chased a 40-year-old female jogger, asking her, “Are you ready to die?” The woman sustained a serious leg injury while attempting to flee. Investigators believe Hughes may have been recording the encounters for social media content.

Hughes fled Philadelphia on August 19, traveling through New Jersey and Florida before arriving in Las Vegas. He was located at an apartment complex in southeast Las Vegas, where he had been hiding for several days. He is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania to face charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and reckless endangerment.
