Zymire Hughes identified as Philadelphia Chucky-mask suspect

Philadelphia authorities have identified 22-year-old Zymire Hughes as the suspect who allegedly terrorized pedestrians in Center City while wearing a Chucky-style horror mask. The incidents occurred on the morning of August 12, during which Hughes reportedly approached and chased between 15 and 16 people while filming the encounters on a cellphone.

In one notable incident, Hughes allegedly pursued a 40-year-old female jogger, asking, “Are you ready to die?” The woman sustained severe leg injuries while attempting to flee. Investigators believe the suspect may have been recording the footage for social media engagement or monetization.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Hughes, who faces charges including felony and misdemeanor assault, harassment, and terroristic threats. Law enforcement officials, working with the U.S. Marshals Service, believe Hughes may have fled Pennsylvania, noting his significant personal and professional ties to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Police are monitoring transportation hubs in California and Nevada as the search continues.
