Zymire Hughes arrested in Las Vegas for Philadelphia terrorizing spree
Zymire Hughes, 22, has been arrested in Las Vegas by the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force following a manhunt for his alleged role in terrorizing residents in Philadelphia.
Authorities say that during the early morning hours of August 15, Hughes wore a distinctive Chucky doll-style Halloween mask while chasing and harassing approximately 15 to 16 people in Center City. In one incident near City Hall, Hughes reportedly approached a jogging woman and asked, “Are you ready to die?” The woman sustained serious leg injuries while attempting to flee.
During the spree, witness Jameka Wilson intervened to protect another victim by kicking the suspect in the chest. Investigators believe Hughes may have been motivated by a desire for social media attention. Hughes is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
