Wrocław hosts Żywica Festival celebrating Belarusian culture
The city of Wrocław has launched the inaugural Żywica Festival, an event designed to promote and revitalize Belarusian culture through various artistic mediums. The festival opened with a reading by Belarusian poet Uładzimier Niaklajew, who presented works such as “Święte źródło”, “Gaj Ben Hinnom”, and “Litwiny”.
In recognition of efforts to preserve and promote this heritage, Jan Andrzej Dąbrowski, Vice President of the Jan Nowak-Jeziorański Eastern Europe College, was awarded the Prize for Support and Development of Belarusian Culture. The festival also features interactive workshops, including traditional Belarusian belt weaving.
Upcoming programming includes a debate titled “The Belarusian Path to Democracy,” featuring experts and opposition leaders, scheduled to take place at the European Parliament Office in Wrocław.
