ZZ Top Cancels Hollywood Bowl Concert, Cheap Trick Steps In

ZZ Top announced the cancellation of its August 5 performance at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl, citing "unforeseen personnel matters" and offering automatic refunds to ticket holders. Frontman Billy Gibbons said the band faced "insurmountable obstacles" that required the abrupt change.

Cheap Trick, originally scheduled as the opening act, organized a special, intimate show at the 300‑capacity Troubadour in West Hollywood as a fill‑in. Tickets for the replacement concert sold out quickly. ZZ Top is slated to resume its tour on August 7 at the Saroyan Theater in Fresno, California.

Fans were directed to the original point of purchase for refunds, with processing expected within five to seven business days.
