ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard faces health issues

ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard is facing serious health issues that have impacted the band’s touring schedule. The musician’s condition was cited as the reason for the cancellation of a recent concert at the Hollywood Bowl.

Despite the setback, band members Billy Gibbons and Elwood Francis intend to continue the ‘The Big One’ tour. Michael Monahan will serve as the fill-in drummer for upcoming performances across North America, including stops in Washington, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, and Texas.

Beard has managed health challenges in the past, including foot and ankle issues that required a temporary hiatus. He has been the band’s drummer for over 55 years.
