IO Interactive has released ‘Extended Operations’, the first major free DLC for ‘007 First Light’. The update fulfills several anticipated features, including a ‘New Game+’ mode and a new ‘00’ difficulty level. This increased difficulty setting is designed for veteran players, featuring faster enemy reaction speeds, more lethal combat, and tighter parry windows. New gameplay content includes the ‘Valhalla Protocol’ TacSim activity, which allows players to drive the Aston Martin Valhalla through the mountains of Slovakia, and a ‘Jungle Heist’ mission set at The Pearl resort in Vietnam. The DLC also introduces a dedicated Photo Mode, new weapons—specifically the Squire Marksman Rifle and Storm 12 Gauge Shotgun—and various cosmetic outfits. Beyond content additions, the update provides over 700 technical fixes alongside improvements to AI and animations. This release follows the game’s commercial success and precedes a planned premium story expansion featuring the character Bawama, portrayed by Lenny Kravitz. Regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 version, IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have confirmed a specific release date of March 18, 2027. The release was pushed from an initial 2026 window due to production delays intended to optimize performance for the new hardware. Accompanying the announcement was a new trailer showcasing the upcoming console version. Pre-orders for the Switch 2 edition are currently available and include digital bonuses such as four deluxe outfits, the Agent’s Mark pistol, the Gleaming pack, and a GoldenEye suit, which serves as a callback to the classic N64 title. The game remains available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Since its May 2026 debut, the title has achieved significant commercial success, selling over 4 million units across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
