Preparations for the 20th Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, have focused on delegation readiness and technical infrastructure for esports. Leading up to the competition, China announced a delegation of 1,274 members, including 815 athletes, aiming to defend its top position in the gold medal standings. Chinese Taipei also prepared a 40-person esports team to compete across seven disciplines, including League of Legends and Pokémon UNITE. As the games commenced, Tencent Esports announced it would provide technical support for 11 esports events using its Tencent Esports Competition Solution (ECS). This system, which underwent trials in Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam earlier in 2026, is designed to manage diverse game engines and provide real-time match monitoring for the largest esports program in the history of the Asian Games. The esports competition is scheduled to take place from September 22 to October 2, 2026, at the Aichi Sky Expo. The ECS will provide end-to-end support across six game categories involving multiple publishers and device formats. The system operates through three stages: a pre-match Inspection Station for checking player peripherals and devices; a Monitoring Console during competition to track over 30 real-time indicators and consolidate video feeds; and a post-match Review Room for officials to access match records and footage. This follows Tencent’s support of the 19th Asian Games, where it recorded zero technical incidents across 217 matches.
