On 22 July 2026 Cruzeiro forward Gabriel Pec suffered a fractured left tibia after a ~~late~~ challenge by Internacional defender Victor Gabriel in a 2‑1 loss in at Porto Alegre. Pec was taken off on a stretcher and underwent surgery on 25 July at Hospital Orizonti in Belo Horizonte; doctors estimate a three‑to‑four‑month recovery.
