Morocco wins 2026 CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations
Overview
Morocco has secured its fourth consecutive CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations title after defeating Angola 5-2 in the final held on October 21, 2026, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
In the championship match, Morocco’s goals were scored by Othmane Idrissi, Youssef Jaouad, Idriss Raiss El Fenni, Ismail Amazal, and Bilal Bakkali. Angola’s goals were provided by Joao Cabangula and Anderson Fortes. Following the match, Angola secured qualification for the Futsal World Cup.
Under the leadership of coach Hicham Dguig, the host nation maintained a dominant tournament performance, scoring a total of 28 goals across five matches. While the final saw Morocco concede two goals, they had remained undefeated and had not conceded a single goal in their previous four matches against Algeria (4-0), Zambia (7-0), Libya (6-0), and Egypt (6-0).
Individual honors were awarded following the final, with Youssef Jaouad named Player of the Tournament and Youssef Bensalam named Best Goalkeeper. In the third-place playoff, Egypt secured third place by defeating Algeria 8-1.
King Mohammed VI issued a message of congratulations to the players, technical staff, and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, praising their professional performance and determination to maintain Morocco's continental standing. This victory marks Morocco’s fourth straight continental championship, continuing a period of dominance that includes their previous titles in 2016, 2020, and 2024.
