A significant development occurred with TCL CSOT and MSI introducing the world’s first 27-inch 4K 120Hz inkjet-printed (IJP) OLED monitor. This technology, which recovers roughly 90% of organic material, could potentially reduce panel prices by up to 35%, challenging the dominance of Samsung and LG Display. Samsung has expanded its monitor portfolio, launching its first WOLED model, the G73SH, which utilizes panels from LG Display. Samsung also introduced the G80SH QD-OLED monitors, offering 4K resolution at 240Hz. This expansion into WOLED technology highlights a growing technical collaboration between South Korean rivals Samsung and LG, driven by competition from Chinese manufacturers. At IFA 2026, manufacturers continued pushing extreme refresh rates and panel technologies. LG Electronics debuted the UltraGear 25G590B, described as the “world’s first Full HD gaming monitor with a native 1000Hz refresh rate.” Acer joined this high-refresh category with the Predator XB253Q U1, a 24.5-inch Full HD IPS display designed for esports. Alienware introduced the AW3226Q, a 32-inch 4K monitor using RGB Stripe Tandem OLED technology, and the AW2527HX, a 24.5-inch 560Hz QD-OLED. Eizo also entered the OLED space with the ColorEdge CG3200X, an OLED monitor tailored for HDR post-production. AOC expanded its AGON brand with the AGP277KXM, a Mini LED monitor capable of switching between 5K at 180Hz and QHD at 360Hz. Additionally, the AGON PRO AGP277QKDC utilizes fourth-generation Tandem WOLED technology, offering a Dual Frame Mode that allows users to select between QHD at 540Hz or HD at 720Hz. Philips showcased the 34B2U590C, which features Dual Mode technology to switch between WUHD at 120Hz and WFHD at 240Hz.
