National teams for Canada and the United States have announced their rosters for the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Denmark Herning and Esbjerg, Denmark, from November 6 to 16. Hockey Canada selected a 25-player roster featuring a younger squad with six first-time national players. This selection, led by general manager Danièle Sauvageau and head coach Kori Cheverie, resulted in the exclusion of several Professional Women’s Hockey League veterans, such as Sarah Nurse and Jenn Gardiner. USA Hockey revealed a 25-player roster that includes 20 returning members from the team that won gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics. The American squad features veterans such as Captain Hilary Knight, Alex Carpenter, Megan Keller, and Jesse Compher. Notable absences from the United States roster include Kendall Coyne Schofield, who is not playing this season due to pregnancy, and goaltender Ava McNaughton. McNaughton, and Britta Curl-Salemme. The goaltending unit will be led by Aerin Frankel and Gwyneth Philips. Switzerland has also finalized its 25-player roster. Head coach Shannon Miller reduced the squad following the Women’s Euro Hockey Tour, removing defenders Alizée Aymon and Elena Gaberell, and forward Jade Surdez. The Swiss team will compete without captain Lara Stalder, who is sidelined with a knee injury. To address this, 19-year-old Elisa Dalessi has been called up to join veterans such as Alina Müller, Andrea Brändli, and Nicole Vallario. Switzerland is set to begin its campaign against the United States on November 6.
