In late July, Málaga opened applications for participants in its Feria de Málaga horse‑rider and carriage program, scheduled for 15‑22 August, with planned fireworks, drone shows and designated daytime and evening venues. The city also outlined documentation requirements for riders and exhibitors. At the same time, Aguascalientes, Mexico confirmed that its Feria Internacional del Caballo will run 7‑16 August on Isla San Marcos. Organisers expect more than 1,500 horses and over 500 riders from Mexico and ten other countries, including the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Argentina, Chile and Spain. The fair will feature roughly 170 events—most free—such as charreadas, competitions, exhibitions, clinics, rodeo, a commercial zone, a gastronomic area, mechanical rides, a “Hecho en Aguascalientes” pavilion, an agro‑food expo, a didactic farm and medieval‑themed spectacles. Three equestrian tracks and the main arena will operate simultaneously. State officials project attendance of 50‑80 000 visitors and an economic impact of about 150 million pesos, describing the fair as the region’s third major economic pillar after the Feria Nacional de San Marcos and the Festival Cultural de las Calaveras. Organisers also highlighted medieval‑themed shows, with the free “Fantasía Medieval” performance and a ticketed “Espectáculo Medieval” running from 11‑16 August, underscoring the fair’s cultural draw.
