2026 motorcycle trial world championships

The 2026 motorcycle trial world championship season concluded in Pobladura de las Regueras, Spain, with several Spanish riders securing titles.

In the TrialGP category, Toni Bou of the Repsol Honda HRC team earned his 40th world title, marking an “emotional milestone” in his career. Although he won the second race of the final event, a 14-point penalty in the first race prevented a clean sweep. Gabriel Marcelli finished as the season runner-up with 388 points, securing his first victory of the year on the final day and finishing ten points ahead of Jaime Busto. In the final round of the TrialGP of Spain, Marcelli secured a victory over teammate Bou, marking Bou’s first overall defeat of the season.

In the women’s TrialGP category, Berta Abellán successfully defended her world championship title for the second consecutive year. After a fourth-place finish in the first heat, she completed a comeback to finish the season with 368 points, ahead of runner-up Andrea Rabino.

In the Trial2 category, Arnau Farré of Sherco was crowned the World Champion. His campaign included victories in Japan and the Netherlands, allowing him to secure the title following a ninth-place finish in the final round. Àlex Canales finished third in the TR2 category. Additionally, Abril Montserrat Junque secured the Trial2 Women title.

Following the world championship events, the Trial of the Nations is taking place in Arteixo, A Coruña. The Spanish national team, consisting of Toni Bou, Jaime Busto, and Gabriel Marcelli, is competing as the defending champions to protect their title on home soil.
