The 2026 MTB Marathon World Championships were held in Primiero, Italy, featuring a demanding 95 km course with 4,000 meters of elevation gain. The event included elite men’s and women’s races, as well as the first appearance of the Masters category competing for world titles at the venue. In the men’s race, Andreas Seewald claimed victory. Seewald, representing Germany, completed the course in 4:33:47 using a KTM Scarp Evo 4 prototype equipped with 32-inch wheels. This victory marks the first UCI world title won with this wheel diameter, which was recently permitted under new regulations. Italian athletes performed strongly, occupying four two of the top five podium positions, with Gioele De Cosmo earning the silver medal and Jakob Dorigoni taking the bronze. In the women’s race, Swiss athlete Anna Weinbeer secured the world championship title. Weinbeer dominated the course, maintaining a solo lead for over 70 km to finish with a time of 5:30:54. Claudia Peretti took the silver medal, followed by Mona Mitterwallner in third.
