The 16th Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club concluded with a United States victory, marking their 11th consecutive win in the competition. Entering the final day of 12 singles matches, the International Team held a historic 10.5-7.5 lead, the first time since the tournament began in 1992 that the International side entered the final day with an advantage on American soil. However, the United States staged a successful rally during the Sunday singles matches to overcome the deficit. The Americans dominated the final session with a 9.5-2.5 score, finishing with a 17-13 overall victory. This performance marked the largest final-day comeback in the tournament's history. Key contributions came from Collin Morikawa, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, and Patrick ~~Cantlay.~~ Cantlay, who earned two points. Rookie Jackson Koivun ~~secured a 2-up victory against Si Woo Kim,~~ went undefeated with 2.5 points, and Jacob Bridgeman secured the clinching point by defeating Min Woo Lee 1-up on the 18th hole. Wyndham Clark also contributed to the win despite a 1-4-0 match record. Despite the win, the tournament highlighted ongoing questions regarding American team management. Captain Brandt Snedeker faced scrutiny over tactical decisions and player pairings, having previously stated, ‘I don’t think I’ve done the best job for them in that room.’ Snedeker later acknowledged that the players made up for his tactical mistakes through their dominant play on the final day. As the golf community looks toward the upcoming Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, analysts are questioning whether the ~~cohesion displayed during this comeback~~ team can ~~be established as a stable model for~~ prevent early-week disadvantages in future competitions. Throughout the tournament, honorary chairman Donald Trump addressed the crowd at the first tee before the final matches. His presence was met with a mixture of cheers and protests from spectators outside the club.
