2026 Tall Ships Races in Europe

In mid‑July 2026 the Tall Ships Races brought more than half a million visitors to Antwerp, Belgium. The four‑day festival showcased 34 historic vessels from 13 nations, with concerts, fireworks, a Crew Parade and a revived Sail Out event. Local officials highlighted the race’s role in promoting maritime heritage and youth training, and after the Antwerp stop the fleet set sail for Stavanger, Norway.

The final leg of the 2026 circuit concluded in early August in Aalborg, Denmark. A traditional Parade of Sail saw the ships exit the harbour through the Limfjord, followed by a 15‑minute fireworks display over the Limfjordsbroen bridge. Safety measures kept the bridge and nearby crossings closed, and spectators enjoyed food stalls and refreshments as the vessels departed.

On 1 August, the fleet left Aalborg Harbour at 13:00, with historic ships sailing out one by one. Spectators lined the waterfront or followed the vessels from their own boats as they navigated the Limfjord into the Kattegat, marking the end of the maritime celebration. Food stalls remained open until the last ship cleared the harbour, allowing visitors to enjoy a final lunch, ice cream or coffee while watching the ships disappear over the horizon.
