2026 US midterm election celebrity mobilization

Overview

During the 2026 US midterm elections, various high profile celebrities and musicians utilized social media to encourage voter participation. Figures such as Jennifer Lawrence, Pedro Pascal, Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt, Olivia Rodrigo, Reese Witherspoon, and Jimmy Fallon shared messages promoting the importance of voting.

Some entertainers provided specific political endorsements. Musician Bruce Springsteen expressed support for Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, describing him as a fighter for democracy and the Constitution against what he termed a “corrupt and anti-American administration.” Conversely, rapper Nicki Minaj used social media to urge her followers to vote “red” in support of the Republican party and Donald Trump. Additionally, influencer and boxer Jake Paul has been noted as a supporter of the president. The political divide within the entertainment industry reflects the broader polarization seen across the American electorate during this midterm cycle. The elections involve highly competitive races for the Senate in states including Kansas, Texas, Michigan, and Ohio, as well as U.S. House contests and local races in California.
