Since May 2026, CD Projekt Red has focused on a long-term roadmap to rebuild player trust, centered on the development of Witcher 4 (codenamed Polaris) using Unreal Engine 5. Co-CEO Michał Nowakowski has stated the studio has not yet completed its “full redemption arc,” aiming to achieve this through Witcher 4, which is currently targeted for a 2028 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. To avoid previous technical issues, the studio is developing Witcher 4 simultaneously for all target platforms; Nowakowski confirmed the game is already functional on these systems and noted that development will pause on any platform if technical milestones are not met. During September 2026 briefings, CFO Piotr Nielubowicz confirmed the studio has two unannounced projects in active development, distinct from earlier research or concept stages. The broader pipeline includes Cyberpunk 2, a new Witcher multiplayer game, a remake of the original Witcher, Hadar, and Sirius. The Witcher 3 franchise remains a core pillar. A remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, including the ‘Hearts of Stone’ and ‘Blood and Wine’ expansions, is scheduled for release on 29 September 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. ~~The~~ Executive Producer Jakub Kutrzeba stated the goal is to modernize the experience to compete with “the standards of 2026,” moving beyond the scope of previous next-gen updates.
