In late July 2026, independent studio GPTRACK50 announced its zombie-action RPG Stupid Never Dies for PlayStation 5 and PC, with SEGA acting as global co-publisher. The game is slated for a worldwide launch on 21 October 2026 and a Japanese release on 22 October 2026. Two editions will be sold: a Standard version for $49.99 and a Glorious Idiot Edition for $59.99, which includes the “TickTock Teddies: Nonsense Overload Pack” DLC. A new trailer introduced the zombie protagonist Davy, the frozen girl Julia, and the mysterious Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers. GPTRACK50 later expanded on gameplay, describing dungeon runs, monster-body upgrades via “Overtech,” and a rhythm-driven “Davy Burst” attack. The studio, led by producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi—a veteran of titles such as Resident Evil and Devil May Cry—also announced that the game's opening and ending theme tracks would be released on 4 August. On 31 August, new details revealed that the title is funded by NetEase Games. Under the direction of Eiichiro Sasaki, the studio released gameplay footage showcasing a boss battle against an aerial dragon known as the Wyvern. On 3 September, further gameplay details were revealed for the debut title from the Capcom-veteran-founded studio. Players will navigate an abandoned shopping mall hub to acquire upgrades before entering the underworld through a toilet. Once in the underworld, players traverse maps inspired by various historical periods and different interpretations of hell. A core mechanic allows players to defeat and devour elite enemies to adopt their specific forms and powers. Additionally, SEGA and GPTRACK50 released the “First Bite Demo,” offering approximately two hours of gameplay. This demo covers the opening of the title, and any progress made can be carried forward into the full version. The game follows Davy’s quest to save a human sniper named Julia by challenging the “King of Monsters.”
