Institutional investors reshuffle US stock holdings

In the first quarter of 2026, several large institutional investors altered their positions in U.S.-listed companies, indicating a sector‑focused reallocation of capital.

Groupama Asset Management sharply reduced its stake in agricultural‑chemicals firm Corteva, selling more than 12,000 shares and ending the quarter with a modest holding valued at about $421,000. At the same time, Pine Valley Investments Ltd Liability Co boosted its exposure to law‑enforcement technology maker Axon Enterprise, buying nearly 1,800 shares to hold roughly $2.1 million worth of stock.

Pine Valley also trimmed its position in energy giant ExxonMobil, selling over 11,000 shares and ending with a $22 million stake, while Rathbones Group increased its ExxonMobil holding by more than 179,000 shares, bringing its investment to about $182.5 million. Overall, institutional ownership of ExxonMobil rose to roughly 61.8% of the company’s shares.

These filings, disclosed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, illustrate how investors are shifting funds between sectors—cutting exposure in agriculture and energy while expanding in technology and law‑enforcement equipment—amid broader market dynamics.
