Colombia and Venezuela earthquake relief efforts

Following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Colombia that caused widespread destruction and a death toll reported to be at least 288 people, the Colombian band Morat has pledged humanitarian support. As part of their ‘Ya Es Mañana World Tour’, the group announced they will donate a portion of the proceeds from six sold-out shows at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá to reconstruct schools in the Chocó, Eje Cafetero, and Valle del Cauca regions. These efforts will be managed through their foundation, Aprender a Quererte. Additionally, the band is establishing donation points at the venue to collect funds for victims through UNICEF. The band dedicated the start of their tour to the earthquake victims during their Bogotá performances. The six-night residency at the Movistar Arena, which took place between August 14 and August 23, concluded with the band also hosting ‘Casa Morat’, an immersive experience in Chapinero. The Bogotá shows serve as the launchpad for an international tour that will include Expanding their philanthropic efforts, Morat has confirmed two concert dates in Chile, Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Caracas, Venezuela, scheduled for December 12 and eventually North America. 13 at the Universidad Simón Bolívar. Through the ‘Fundación Aprender a Quererte’, a portion of the ticket proceeds from these performances will be donated to support the reconstruction and reactivation of the education sector in areas affected by earthquakes that occurred in Venezuela in late June.
