Reports from Turkey have detailed several separate incidents of domestic violence and family-related killings. In Alanya, a man identified as Mustafa E. stabbed his wife and mother-in-law during a dispute in the Kestel neighborhood. Following the attack, the suspect climbed to the roof of a five-story construction building to attempt suicide while conducting a social media live stream. After a four-hour negotiation with gendarmerie, fire, and medical teams, he was taken into custody. The two victims were transported to Alanya Training and Research Hospital, where they remain in critical condition. The suspect has been referred to the Alanya Courthouse. In Adana, Ayşe Katırcı was stabbed eight times by her ex-husband, Arif Tanrıkulu. Katırcı, who had been the subject of eight previous restraining orders, was hospitalized in a coma for six days. Tanrıkulu was apprehended in the Pozantı district and arrested after confessing to the attack. A trial is also underway in Mersin regarding the murders of Aygül Çınar and her mother, Türkan Söylemez. The defendant, Ömer Can Çınar, faces two counts of aggravated life imprisonment for the premeditated killing of the women. During the hearing at the Mersin 5th High Criminal Court, Çınar claimed he acted in self-defense while under the influence of alcohol, alleging a dispute occurred after he suspected his sister-in-law of drug use. However, an 8-year-old witness, the son of the victim, testified that his uncle shot both women before fleeing the scene. The court has decided to continue Çınar's detention. In Ankara, a legal controversy has emerged involving police officer Yasin Çakmak, who was sentenced to four years and two months for attacking his wife, Fatma Çakmak, during divorce proceedings.
