Sporting and cultural events in Argentina

Argentina continues to host a diverse array of sporting and cultural events. International racing remains a focus, with Franco Colapinto’s preparations for the Dutch Grand Prix with Alpine, alongside the RXP Track Day at the Termas de Río Hondo International Circuit and the Formula 3 Metropolitana championship in Paraná.

Regional and national competitions are expanding. The 2026 Torneo Regional Federal Amateur held its official presentation in Neuquén, marking a departure from the traditional launch at the AFA facilities in Ezeiza. In Entre Ríos, preparations are underway for the 40th edition of the Copa Entre Ríos, with Concepción del Uruguay serving as the host for its official launch.

In football, the Primera Nacional sees Chaco For Ever facing San Miguel in a match critical for survival, while Cambaceres has rescheduled its fixture against Paraguayo. On the international stage, Conmebol has released the 2027 Copa Libertadores calendar; Belgrano is set to debut in the group stage in April, though the club reported that player Agustín Falcón requires surgery for a meniscal tear.

Rugby has entered the international spotlight with the Argentine national team, Los Pumas, scheduled to face Australia in a Test Match on August 29 at the Estadio 23 de Agosto in San Salvador de Jujuy. Australian fly-half Ben Donaldson noted the importance of the series for the Wallabies as they prepare for the 2027 Rugby World Cup. To accommodate the event, the Municipality of San Salvador de Jujuy will implement special traffic and public transport measures, including modified bus routes and street closures.

Other scheduled activities include basketball’s Pre Federal Tournament, the provincial finals of the Juegos Evita in Catamarca, the National Grape Festival in Formosa, and various cycling and mountain biking events.
