The Big Brother Naija Season 11 reality show, themed ‘Everything Is For The Taking’, has seen its initial phase of evictions and disciplinary measures. Early in the season, Martins Iyeh and Mercedes were evicted following the first live show, leaving 22 contestants competing for the N160 million grand prize. During this period, housemate Nomy received the first official strike and a ‘last and final warning’ for defying instructions. As the competition progressed, internal conflicts increased, including a heated argument sparked by Temi Nkem’s remarks regarding other housemates. Big Brother issued multiple sanctions for various rule violations, such as attempting to damage property and mishandling equipment. These penalties included individual warnings and a collective punishment where the house was denied hot water for a week. Additionally, a viewer-led twist titled ‘Operation Release the Gambit’ resulted in housemates Aikou and Flora being reinstated as full contestants. Previously designated as ‘Gambits’ who were ineligible for the grand prize, they are now eligible to compete for the money while remaining subject to eviction. Following a public vote, organizers confirmed that Aikou and Flora have been stripped of their immunity and special roles. This transition occurred during a turbulent week where Big Brother nullified previous saves, resulting in a fresh nomination slate involving 15 housemates. Furthermore, the total prize pool has been reduced by ₦5 million due to rule violations, bringing the current grand prize down to ₦90 million.
