Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the infrastructure was a strategic asset developed over two decades with Iranian funding and planning. The complex reportedly served as a command center for Hezbollah’s Badr Unit and contained extensive stockpiles of Iranian-made rockets, missiles, drones, anti-tank weapons, and explosives. The destruction of these tunnels is intended to establish a stable security zone to protect northern Israeli communities.

The massive explosion was powerful enough to trigger a seismic tremor measuring 4.1 magnitude, as recorded by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Residents in the Nabatieh region reported feeling strong tremors and hearing a powerful rumble. Following the operation, Israel has indicated its readiness to continue military strikes against Hezbollah at additional locations.
