Italy continues to host a wide array of regional cultural, gastronomic, and artistic events. Autumn programming has expanded to include diverse culinary, musical, and outdoor activities. In the realm of arts and heritage, Cosenza has begun its 27th Autunno Musicale international chamber music season, while the Pinacoteca civica in Fabriano has inaugurated a multimedia room using virtual reality to reconstruct historical sites. Milan is hosting the seventh Festival delle Abilità to promote social inclusion through art, and the Teatro San Cristoforo has launched its season with performances along the Navigli canals. Additionally, the Ministry of Culture is organizing the ‘Ierofania’ multidisciplinary tour, including a stop at the Locri archaeological park. Culinary traditions remain prominent, from mushroom and truffle foraging in Alta Val Taro and Valle Camonica to the grape harvest in Monferrato. In the Garfagnana region, October marks the chestnut harvest and the reopening of ‘metati’, traditional drying structures used for Garfagnana DOP chestnut flour. In Caldè, near Lake Maggiore, seasonal menus are shifting toward game dishes such as wild boar and deer. Outdoor and cultural trekking activities are also expanding. In Val Gardena, the ‘Törggelen Experience’ highlights peasant customs involving new wine. The Lake District features the ‘Treno del Foliage’, while Piedmont and the Alps offer scenic foliage trekking. New excursions are scheduled for November 1: the Erei Hikers group will lead a 6.5 km loop through chestnut forests and pine groves in the Ronza Park area, while a 14 km guided trek will explore the Castelli Romani Park between Genzano and Nemi, covering the sacred woods of Diana and the history of Roman ships near Lake Nemi. Further autumn foliage activities are planned for November 8. In Varaita Valley, Monviso Park is hosting a free photography workshop titled “Obiettivo Foliage” along the Sentiero dei Sarvanot in Sampeyre, focusing on seasonal color changes in beech forests.
