The Instituto Federal de São Paulo (IFSP) continues to expand its infrastructure and academic reach. Significant campus developments include the acquisition of a R$ 40.31 million property in Planalto do Sol for the new Sumaré Campus, expected to begin activities in late 2027, and the consolidation of the Jardim Ângela Campus through the acquisition of land totaling approximately 8,000 square meters. Additionally, the institution has signed a service order for the first phase of restoring a building for the Franco da Rocha Campus, an investment of roughly R$ 27 million. In terms of academic and professional initiatives, the IFSP has launched a selection process for 3,235 free technical course vacancies across 40 campuses for the first semester of 2027. Applications are open from October 28 to November 18, utilizing an electronic draw rather than a traditional exam. These courses cover fields such as Administration, Biotechnology, Logistics, Mechanics, and Renewable Energy Systems. To support academic engagement, the IFSP held a seminar to discuss internationalization within Brazilian public higher education. During the event, participants explored how internationalization integrates with teaching, research, extension, and innovation. Luciane Stallivieri, a professor from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, noted that internationalization involves preparing students to engage with diverse cultures and global technologies, rather than just teaching a second language. Wagner Belo, coordinator of the IFSP International Relations Office, stated that internationalization is integrated with management to enhance institutional capabilities, while Professor Rafaela Souza presented the IFSP Internationalization Observatory to track academic exchange data. Furthermore, the IFSP Pro-Rectory of Research and Graduate Studies released Notice No. 36/2026, providing R$ 100,000 in financial assistance via the Institutional Program for Incentivizing Student Participation in Events (Pipde). This fund supports up to 200 students attending the 17th Congress of Innovation, Science, and Technology (Conict) at the Guarulhos Campus from November 24 to 26, 2026, covering expenses such as food, daily allowances, and transportation.
