The 2026 Mondial de l'Auto, scheduled for October 12–18 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, is expected to highlight significant French automotive innovations and technological advancements. Initial reports indicate that French manufacturers such as Alpine, Citroën, and DS plan to showcase new models, including a potential successor to the Berlinette and an affordable electric version of the 2CV. The event is also set to integrate video gaming through a partnership with L’olivier Assurance. Stellantis has subsequently announced a major presence at the show, occupying 5,340 square meters to exhibit over 60 vehicles and nine concept cars across eight brands. A primary focus for the group will be the debut of the ‘STLA One’ modular multi-energy platform, which combines electrification, software, and artificial intelligence. Brand-specific highlights include Peugeot’s ‘Polygon’ concept, the DS N°7 flagship crossover, and European debuts for Leapmotor models. As the 91st edition approaches, the exhibitor list continues to expand with international participation from Europe, the United States, and China. Kia has announced an immersive 1,000 square meter stand in Hall 6, themed around the ‘nocturnal energy of Seoul’. The manufacturer plans to display 14 models across four categories: Urban, Hybrid, 100% Electric GT, and Transport. Key highlights for Kia include the European debut of the Seltos Hybrid, the French press premiere of the K4 5-door Hybrid on October 12, and the inclusion of the Kia EV2 in its electric lineup. In preparation for the event, a September 2026 Ipsos study of 1,000 adults revealed high levels of car dependency in France, with 91% of households owning at least one vehicle. Reflecting technological shifts, the show will host a specialized program on October 13 featuring conferences on artificial intelligence and software-defined vehicles in partnership with Google and Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
