Israeli military operations in Gaza City have resulted in multiple civilian fatalities. In early September, a drone strike killed a six-year-old girl and her father near the Hamid intersection. This incident occurred amid reported violations of a ceasefire agreement that had been in effect since October 2025. By mid-September, another drone strike in Gaza City killed a 15-year-old boy, Mohammad Abdul Zinati, while he was attempting to assist a wounded paramedic on Salah Khalaf Street. The Israeli military identified the paramedic as a legitimate target due to alleged Hamas affiliations, though Israel maintains it does not intentionally target civilians. On September 18, witnesses reported a ‘double tap’ drone strike near Al-Shifa Hospital. The incident began when an initial strike severely injured Sharif Shadi Labad, identified by Gaza civil defense as a rescuer. As bystanders and relatives, including 26-year-old Mohammed Rajeh Zinati, rushed to assist, a second drone strike hit the area. The subsequent explosion killed Mohammed, Zinati’s cousin, who sustained strikes to the chest and abdomen.
