The Spanish Guardia Civil has conducted several major operations targeting diverse fraudulent schemes across various provinces. In Operation Ibermellow, authorities dismantled a cyber-fraud network that utilized smishing and vishing to impersonate bank employees. The group targeted victims through fake SMS messages, coercing them into transferring funds or taking out loans. This operation resulted in 29 arrests and the recovery of over 250,000 euros from losses exceeding one million euros. Subsequent operations targeted different sectors. Operation Alxaraf Proditio Olea led to the arrest of a suspect accused of defrauding 258 olive producers in Huelva and Sevilla of approximately 1,765,220 euros by promising payment for harvests that were never settled. The suspect allegedly maintained a false appearance of solvency, reselling olives to third-party distributors and collecting payments without transferring funds to the primary producers. To maintain trust, the suspect reportedly used tactics such as issuing promissory notes that were later returned due to insufficient funds. Judicial searches in Olivares and Albaida del Aljarafe resulted in the seizure of luxury watches, high-end vehicles, gold and silver ingots, and electronic devices. Additionally, during Operation Larberik in Granada, a 41-year-old man was arrested for allegedly defrauding more than 40 elderly and disabled individuals of roughly 350,000 euros by posing as a salesperson to secure fraudulent credit contracts and financing.
