Local community initiatives in various Polish towns have focused on social recognition, physical activity, and support for specific age groups. In mid-October, programs expanded to include digital inclusion and home-based care. Koszalin launched 11 digital support points in public libraries to assist seniors with internet services and the mObywatel app, while appointing Dorota Gruszeczka as the city’s representative for senior affairs. In Świnoujście, the deadline for exchanging ‘Karta Wyspiarza’ (Islander Card) was extended to December 31, 2026. Further welfare developments include a ‘Senior Voucher’ program in Włoszczowa, funded by the state budget to provide home-based care such as assistance with shopping, meals, and hygiene. Other regional activities include social work workshops in Nowy Sącz and a planned conference in Gdańsk titled ‘Zdrowe pomaganie’ (Healthy Helping), which will address social activism challenges and caregiver burnout.
