Athletic Club continues to manage squad availability issues during their LaLiga campaign. Manager Edin Terzić has been navigating the long-term absence of striker Gorka Guruzeta, who remains out for the season following an ACL rupture. Injury concerns have persisted for key midfielders. Oihan Sancet has faced a prolonged recovery from a moderate left soleus injury; while he has been working in the gym and treatment rooms, Terzić has projected a return to grass training between late October and early November, though a competitive return date remains unset. Nico Williams, previously sidelined with a thigh injury, was cleared for selection for the match against Valencia after completing full training following a period of preventive work. Other medical updates include Aymeric Laporte dealing with fatigue and the medical staff awaiting test results for Álvaro Djalo, who returned from international duty with a suspected infection. Despite these challenges, the club has seen significant youth integration. Following his recent progression with Bilbao Athletic, 17-year-old Christian Imga received his first senior squad call-up. Both Imga and Txus Vizcay recently made their debuts during a 4-0 victory over Getafe at San Mamés. This win, driven by Álex Berenguer’s involvement in all four goals, ended a four-match winless streak and moved the team into eighth place in the standings. However, the victory was tempered by an injury to Íñigo Ruiz de Galarreta, who was forced to leave the pitch in the 18th minute. In the match against Getafe, captain Iñaki Williams scored in the 37th minute to extend the lead to 2-0 following a counter-attack involving Gere and Berenguer. The lineup also featured the first minutes of the season for Vivian and Prados.
