The UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Shanghai featured several high-profile individual victories. German cyclist Pauline Grabosch secured her first individual gold medal in the 1,000-meter time trial with a time of 1:04.572, defeating defending champion Hetty van den Wouw of the Netherlands. This win contributed to Germany’s growing medal count at the event. Following this, Ireland’s Lara Gillespie won the gold medal in the points race. Gillespie earned 42 points during the 25km race to finish ahead of Denmark’s Amalie Dideriksen and Belgium’s Shari Bossuyt. This victory marked Gillespie’s second World Championship gold medal in two years. The German track cycling team concluded the championships with a total of nine medals, including two golds. In addition to Grabosch’s victory, Teutenberg claimed gold in the men’s scratch race, marking his second world title. Other German successes included silver for Lea Sophie Friedrich in the Keirin, bronze for Roger Kluge and Moritz Augenstein in the Madison, and additional medals for Lisa Klein in the individual pursuit and Tim Torn Teutenberg in the omnium.
