In October 2026, various regional initiatives were launched to improve financial literacy and inclusion across Indonesia. In Makassar, the FIN Expo 2026 was held to bridge the gap between financial access and deep understanding of product risks. Organized by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Financial Services Industry Communication Forum (FKIJK), the event focused on providing capital solutions for MSMEs and protecting younger generations from fraudulent investments. Survey data indicated that approximately 93.01 percent of the population used financial products in 2026. Simultaneously, the Jakarta Financial Festival 2026 marked the conclusion of a market digitalization program involving the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, FKIJK, and OJK. The program reached 93 traditional markets, facilitating nearly 1,146 merchant accounts and connecting 1,283 merchants with QRIS payment services. OJK Jabodebek Head Edwin Nurhadi noted that Jakarta maintains the highest financial literacy and inclusion indices in Indonesia, with literacy at 84.01 percent and inclusion at 99.74 percent. Expanding on these efforts, FinExpo 2026 was held in Bandung from October 29 to November 1, 2026, as part of the 2026 Financial Inclusion Month (BIK) initiatives. The exhibition aims to increase public understanding of formal financial products. KrediOne CEO Kuseryansyah noted that while West Java has significant economic potential in sectors like MSMEs, agriculture, and fisheries, expanding financing access must be paired with an understanding of financial risks. Other participants, such as AsetKu, utilized interactive activities to introduce digital funding services to the community.
