The National District Basketball Association (Abadina) has released the official schedule for the 50th edition of the TBS Distrito tournament. The competition is set to begin on Tuesday, September 15, at the Arena Banreservas, with an inaugural game featuring a rematch between last year’s finalists, Mauricio Báez and San Carlos. The tournament will comprise 66 matches played over 45 dates. Participating teams have been divided into two groups: Group A consists of Mauricio Báez, San Lázaro, Bameso, and El Millón, while Group B includes San Carlos, Rafael Barias, Los Prados, and Huellas del Siglo. In roster and coaching developments, Club Doctor Rafael Barias has announced the signing of American center JD Miller as their second reinforcement. ~~Miller, who has professional experience in Germany, Mexico, and Venezuela,~~ Miller joins veteran guard Marquis Wright to support the Villa Consuelo-based team in their attempt to secure a fifth title. Coaching staffs for the eight participating clubs have also been finalized. Melvyn López will return to lead defending champion Mauricio Báez in pursuit of a fourth consecutive title and a historic 11th championship. Other coaching assignments include José ‘Pancho’ Fortuna at Rafael Barias, Yoel Feliz at San Carlos, Carlos Medina at Huellas del Siglo, and Abraham Disla returning to direct El Millón. Additionally, Julio Duquela and Carlos Payano will continue their roles with Bameso and Los Prados, respectively.
