Defending champions Walter Bouzán and Bertín Llera entered successfully defended their title in the K-2 category at the 88th Descenso Internacional del Sella Sella, finishing with high expectations, having set a record time-trial during the preliminary stages. In the final competition, the duo secured victory in the K-2 category time of 1:08:26 after a strong competitive final sprint. They defeated sprint against runners-up Miguel Llorens and Valdemar Jorgensen, while the Jorgensen. The Hungarian pair pair, Adrian Boros and Tamas Erdelyi Erdelyi, previously finished in third place. In the men's K-1 category, Alberto Plaza secured his first victory in the event in nine years, followed by Joaquín Iglesias in second and Kiko Vega in third. Other winners included Osaba and Tuset in the women's K-2 category and Zsofia Czellai in the women's K-1 category. The competition involved over 1,200 paddlers from 22 countries navigating the 20-kilometer route from Arriondas to Ribadesella.
