A Fazenda 18: Harassment allegations and Renê ~~Thristan'sexit~~ Thristan's de-

The 18th season of Record’s ‘A Fazenda’ remains defined by severe allegations against participant Serginho Hondjakoff and escalating house tensions. Hondjakoff faces accusations of racism, xenophobia, religious intolerance, and sexual harassment. While production reviewed footage regarding Ana Bruna Ávila’s harassment claims and determined it did not warrant expulsion—noting his actions were ‘close to the limit’—the controversy has significantly impacted gameplay. Hondjakoff, acting as ‘Fazendeiro’, influenced the formation of the third ‘Roça’ (elimination round). Following the nomination of Renê Thristan, the elimination pool was finalized. Singer Jottapê secured safety by winning the ‘Prova do Fazendeiro’, which also granted him the power to veto a contestant from the challenge; he chose to veto Renê. In the subsequent public vote, Renê Thristan was eliminated after receiving 20.04% of the votes, becoming the first male contestant to leave the competition. Following his exit, Renê addressed controversies regarding his behavior toward Ariela Carasso, apologizing to women in Brazil. He attributed his actions to the “high-stress environment and the adrenaline of the game,” stating he intended to compete aggressively rather than be a passive participant. Social media reactions have been largely critical, with users labeling the apology as insincere. Internal friction continues to escalate. Ariela Carasso has faced further distress, including reports of Mônica Fonseca provoking her by disposing of waste and breaking her earrings. Additionally, a heated dispute over household chores resulted in Fran throwing water in Carasso’s face. In recent competition developments, the ‘Prova de Fogo’ challenge utilized an elimination format. Gabriel Torres, Murilo Dias, and Mayk Leão won their respective rounds to reach the final stage. The six defeated participants—Mônica, Rikardo, Alfredo, Fran, Maíra, and Giovanna—were sent to the ‘Baia’ area.
