During a D23 panel, casting updates were announced for the second season of the ABC ‘Scrubs’ revival. Scott Foley is set to reprise his role as Sean Kelly, with a storyline involving a rekindled romance with Elliot Reid. Further casting details revealed that John Higgins Higgins, a former ‘Saturday Night Live’ writer and member of the comedy group ‘Please Don’t Destroy’, will join the series as Grant, Grant. Higgins will play a recurring role as the hospital’s new Chief Resident Resident, a character intended to act as a foil to J.D. Additionally, Ava Bunn Bunn, who plays intern Tosh, will be promoted to a series regular, while Keyla Monterroso Mejia will join as a recurring surgical nurse. Some previous recurring cast members, including X Mayo and Joel Kim Booster, will not return. The series series, produced by 20th Television, is scheduled to return to ABC on Wednesday, September 30. 30, with streaming availability on Hulu the following day.
