In Itapecerica da Serra, within the São Paulo metropolitan region, a woman from Alagoas was rescued from captivity and sexual abuse. The victim had been traveling in a clandestine van with 12 others; while other passengers disembarked in central São Paulo, she remained under the control of three men. During a fuel stop, the woman managed to write a note saying “por ‘por favor, me” me’ (please, me), which was seen by a convenience store employee. The employee alerted the police, leading to the arrest of three men, one of whom had a prior criminal record. The victim reported being incapacitated by alcohol mixed with medication.
