Abductions and disappearances in Baja California

Authorities in Baja California are investigating several incidents of abduction and disappearance across the state.

In Ensenada, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) linked a suspect, Miguel ‘N’, to the August 22 abduction of three employees from the company Viva Orgánica. In Mexicali, a suspect named Guillermo ‘N’, allegedly a member of a criminal group, was linked to the disappearance of a 70-year-old woman and two men from a residence in the Villas de Alarcón neighborhood. As of mid-September, none of the victims in these cases have been located.

Separately, in Mexicali, two migrants from Oaxaca escaped captivity at the Hotel Las Flores after being held for several days. The victims sought help from a passing municipal police patrol, leading to the detention of two suspects, Gustavo ‘N’ and Viridiana ‘N’. The rescue operation involved local police, the State Prosecutor's Office, the State Citizen Security Force, and the National Guard.

Recent reports indicate that Mexicali police rescued two migrants from Oaxaca who had been held captive in a hotel following a dispute over smuggling fees. Additionally, authorities in Mexicali arrested three individuals, including an 18-year-old known as ‘El Karlitos’ linked to the ‘Los Rusos’ group, during a drug and weapons exchange.
