In late July 2026 the Young Democrats of Abruzzo reaffirmed reconfirmed Saverio Gileno as secretary and unveiled for a youth‑focused platform addressing depopulation, precarious employment second term at a Pescara congress, also electing Annachiara Di Lorenzo as regional president and transport, including Emanuele Castigliego as treasurer. Delegates from neighbouring regions and national party leaders attended, and the platform reiterated a multi‑year youth plan, tax exemptions for under‑30s, a unified ticket system with free student tickets transport, and expanded an extension of out‑of‑region voting rights. A few days later the regional Democratic Party met in Pescara, where leaders backed backing national reforms for internal interior areas, mountain municipalities and the right to stay, and pledged while pledging infrastructure upgrades, unified public‑transport tickets, health‑service improvements, measures to stem youth out‑migration and landslide prevention. On 31 July 2026 the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport approved €40 million for 292 road‑safety projects in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 residents. A further €10 million round is planned for later 2026, bringing the fund’s total to €92.3 million for 715 communes since 2023.
