ACEN renewable energy developments in the Philippines
Overview
ACEN Corporation and its partners are advancing several renewable energy initiatives in the Philippines through significant financing and structural reorganizations.
In late August 2026, ACEN Corp. and Yanara Philippines Corp. secured a PHP 2.3-billion project finance facility from Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. to develop the 75-megawatt Sual Solar project in Pangasinan. This project, a joint venture through Renovable Earth Corp., was selected under a government green energy auction and is expected to provide electricity between 2026 and 2029.
By early September 2026, ACEN expanded its financial commitments, approving a P9 billion capital infusion for its subsidiaries. This includes P6 billion for Sanmar Solar Inc. to develop a 500-megawatt battery energy storage system and solar park in Zambales, and P3.24 billion for Giga Ace 8 Inc. to finance the 300-megawatt Palauig 2 solar project. Additionally, ACEN underwent a portfolio restructuring that involved the dissolution of 12 inactive subsidiaries and the sale of several energy corporations to Yanara Philippines Corp.
