The 2026 Acre election campaign has intensified. June polling showed Senator Alan Rick (Republicanos) ahead of Governor Mailza Assis with about 41 % support. A federal judge on 22 June rejected a request to bar Rick from mass political events, allowing his pre‑campaign activities to continue. Late June, Mayor Zequinha Lima endorsed Rick, announcing a R$1.5 million health tranche and other local investments, while Rick accused Mailza of sidelining mayors. Early July the Expoacre Juruá fair featured Rick alongside former governor Gladson Cameli and PT‑aligned Jorge Viana; the event highlighted the Vale do Juruá furniture sector and awarded Rick the titles of Citizen of Brasiléia and Honor of Merit. The Expoacre fair opened on 1 August with concerts, a traditional Cavalgada parade, rodeo, free health services and tight police security, showcasing Acre’s agribusiness and cultural life.
