Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has engaged in various public, commemorative, and religious activities. In Gorakhpur, he addressed a ceremony at the Gorakhnath Temple, where he emphasized the importance of unity within Sanatan Dharma for national security. During this visit, he also conducted a ‘Janata Darshan’ program to address citizen grievances regarding land disputes and medical aid, warning officials that negligence would face disciplinary action. In Lucknow, Adityanath commemorated the 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at GPO Park in Hazratganj. He offered floral tributes to Gandhi’s statue and visited the Gandhi Ashram, where he operated a spinning wheel (charkha) to promote the principles of self-reliance and Swadeshi. He noted that the charkha serves as a symbol of India’s independence and that Gandhi’s peaceful leadership remains a relevant model for building a developed India. More recently, acting as the Gorakshpeethadhishwar, the Chief Minister performed traditional religious rituals at the Gorakhnath Temple during the Shardiya Navratri and Vijayadashami festivals. He conducted the Mahanisha Pujan and a Havan accompanied by Vedic chanting, offering prayers for the peace and prosperity of the state. As part of the ceremonies, he visited the samadhis of his predecessors, including Mahant Avyedyanath, to seek blessings. On Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Adityanath issued a message stating that the sage’s teachings of truth and righteousness serve as eternal guidance. He noted that the state is working to uplift all social classes by developing sacred sites like the Valmiki Ashram in Bithoor and the meditation site in Chitrakoot, highlighting that naming the Ayodhya international airport after Maharishi Valmiki provides his legacy with national and international recognition. During a ‘Janata Darshan’ session in Lucknow, Adityanath reinforced his commitment to the principle of ‘Nar Seva-Narayan Seva’ (serving humanity as serving God).
